The old adage says “laws were made to be broken.” That may be true. Chances are that there are no perfect laws and that there are always or often exceptions to the rule. However, when it comes to law enforcement, beware. If you break the law or fail to follow the rules, there will definitely be consequences.I’m not talking here about just the usual crimes and criminal activity. I’m talking about obeying and cooperating with law enforcement officials (even when you are innocent of wrongdoing or do not understand what is going on). If you do not comply with law enforcement officers (it doesn’t matter if you are guilty of a crime or if there is a problem of mistaken identity, etc.), and if you resist arrest and obstruct justice (in the minds of the law), then you will be punished by handcuffing, jail time, fines, a criminal record, and now even the deadly TASER!

Ranch Dressing—A Test
27 12 2007![]()

If you haven’t guessed, I’ve been reading labels again. This time it is salad dressing (who knows what other dangers or concerns may be found in other food items at the local grocery store?). Specifically, my family asked me to find some Ranch dressing. Here are the brands and varieties I found in the store (of just Ranch dressing!). I’m thankful that we live in a land of plenty and that we have a lot of choices, but I wonder if they are real choices. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Freedom (Song)
22 12 2007![]()
(To Be Sung to the Traditional Christmas Tune)
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Freedom!
Everywhere you go;
As you drive along North 210,
You’ll see Ron Paul signs again
Held by happy smiling folks you’d like to know!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Freedom,
Let’s be done with war!
Then the prettiest sight you’ll see is the promise of Liberty
In our land once more.

America: Freedom to Fascism
22 12 2007
Aaron Russo’s “America: Freedom to Fascism” is an excellent film which will enlighten you to many alarming things regarding the U.S. government and the world situation. This is a startling examination that exposes the systemic erosion of civil liberties in America today.
His movie debunks the justification of both the IRS and the Federal Reserve as well as exposing their crooked basis. This incendiary political documentary exposes many of the governmental organizations and entities that have abridged the freedoms of U.S. citizens. There are so many, many things on the political scene right now that it is downright scary for sure. Read the rest of this entry »

Congress And The President Working Behind-The-Scenes To Undo The Secure Fence Act
21 12 2007
The most shocking news today (12/20/2007) is that Congress and President Bush have been working behind the scenes (not just now, but for a long time) to undo the Secure Fence Act that is so very much needed in this country. Probably the best report of this travesty can be found in a report prepared by Grassfire.org, a conservative-based organization that works to preserve the individual rights and freedoms of U.S. citizens. Here is the main report:
Special Report: Border Fence Funding Hoax of 2006 and 2007 (12/20/2007)
http://www.firesociety.com/article/19402/?src=111
The reports I have read are that funding was at one time allocated for a double-layer fence to secure the Southern border of the U.S. in order to halt the rampant influx of illegal aliens coming into this country from Mexico. But that has now been discarded. Read the rest of this entry »

Carbon Monoxide Use in Meat. Is it Safe?
4 12 2007
In recent years the meat processing industry has instituted the practice of using carbon monoxide as a way to make red meat “look fresher.” This does not mean it really is fresher. It just means it looks fresher. One investigation done by Channel 6 News in Florida has showed case-ready ground beef enhanced with carbon monoxide remained cherry red for months. Not days—MONTHS!
Think about it. Who does this benefit?? It doesn’t benefit the consumer. Read the rest of this entry »

Thoughts on the CNN/YouTube Debate (11/28/2007)
2 12 2007
Dr. Joe Dumas of Hamilton County, Tennessee, has an excellent blog called “The Taxpayer’s Best Friend.” On a recent posting, he gave his “Thoughts on the CNN/YouTube Debate Last Night.” The debate was November 28th and featured the Republican candidates for the 2008 presidency.
I missed the debate, but read the transcripts and saw some brief excerpts on YouTube. Here are the transcripts:
Republican Debate transcript, Nov. 28, 2007:

Transcript, Part 2:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/11/28/debate.transcript.part2/index.html
Here is the beginning of Dr. Dumas’ analysis: “First of all, could it have been any more obvious that CNN was trying to favor the ‘media darling’ candidates? Rudy and Mitt got at least 3X the questions that Ron Paul got, and Fred and McCain at least 2X. Time after time I found myself screaming at the TV, ‘Let Ron Paul answer THAT one!’ Most of the time it was to no avail….”

Is Mike Huckabee a Republican Paradox?
1 12 2007
According to Patrick Briney, president of the Arkansas Republican Assemblies (ARRA), presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is a Republican paradox. ARRA is a group that claims to be “The Republican Wing of the Republican Party” in Arkansas. It is also the “Home of social, moral, and fiscal Conservative Arkansans who believe in God, family, and country and who are working together in County Republican Assemblies in Arkansas to strengthen and to uphold moral and traditional family values and Republican principles and ideals.” If any group is able to judge conservatism and morality in a presidential candidate (especially one from their own state), I would think that ARRA would be able to discern this.
